Competitive Wisconsin Briefing

Moraine Park Technical College and UW–Fond du Lac along with technical colleges and universities across the state educate and train Wisconsin’s workforce. In order to gain a clear understanding of the workforce issues facing our region, we have partnered with Competitive Wisconsin Inc., (CWI) to hold a briefing session for area business, labor, civic and academic leaders to learn about a major research study being conducted this summer and discuss local workforce development responses to the issues we face.
The Fond du Lac-area briefing will be held on Thursday, July 12 from 7:30 – 9:00 a.m. at UW–Fond du Lac in Room UC 113/114 (aka LGI) located at 400 University Drive in Fond du Lac.In addition to stakeholder input on current issues, this 90-minute briefing will include an overview of Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) programs and other workforce development and training initiatives around the state. Economic and workforce development experts will also be available to discuss regional initiatives, opportunities and challenges. Invited stakeholders include major regional employers; regional economic development directors and board members; local work force investment board members; labor representatives; local chambers of commerce directors and board members; faculty with expertise in workforce development; CWI members; and BE BOLD 2 sponsors

By fostering strategic discussions and innovative recommendations, we can all help ensure Wisconsin develops and trains an exceptional workforce ready to meet employer needs and create economic prosperity.
