Hazard Communication Standard/Globally Harmonized System

OSHA and the USA are joining the rest of the world in updating the Hazardous Communication Standard. Major changes to the HCS involves updating hazard classification of chemicals using specific criteria to address health and physical hazards; labels must now include a signal word, pictogram, hazard statement for each hazard class; 8 additional sections have been added to the safety data sheets; and to understand the system, training must be done. The first deadline for training is December 1, 2013. Are you ready?
